A catalog of AGB stars in our Galaxy (Version 2024)
Suh (2024) presents a new catalog of 7163 C-rich AGB stars in our Galaxy, excuding extrinsic carbon stars. A group of 4909 C-rich AGB stars (CAGB_IC objects) are identified based on the IRAS catalog and another group of 2254 C-rich AGB stars (CAGB_NI objects) are identified based on the Gaia DR3 or AllWISE source catalogs.

Suh (2022) presented a catalog of 74,093 (64,609 O-rich and 9484 C-rich) AGB stars in our Galaxy considering a new sample of OGLE4 Mira variables. A group of 23,314 (19,196 O-rich and 4118 C-rich) AGB stars are identified based on the IRAS PSC and another group of 50,779 (45,413 O-rich and 5366 C-rich) AGB stars are identified based on the AllWISE source catalog.

(Version 2022; Suh 2022) We provide the catalog in Excel format for easier reproduction of the scientific results, which can be used for various studies.
an excel file (AGB2022_v1.xlsx; packed into a zip file): contains the related data
for all of the sample stars in the catalog (Version 2022; OAGB-IRAS, CAGB-IRAS, OAGB-WISE, and CAGB-WISE; see Tables 3-4 in the paper).
Suh (2021) presented a new catalog of 11209 O-rich AGB stars and 7172 C-rich AGB stars in our Galaxy identifying more AGB stars in the bulge component and considering more visual carbon stars.
We present the new catalog in two parts: one is based on the IRAS PSC and the other one is based on the AllWISE source catalog.
In the IRAS based catalog, there are 5908 OAGB-IRAS and 3596 CAGB-IRAS objects. And in the WISE based catalog, there are 5301 OAGB-WISE and 3576 CAGB-WISE objects. (see Tables 9-12)
We have studied infrared variability of the sample stars using the WISE photometric data in the last 12 years: the AllWISE multiepoch data and the Near-Earth Object WISE Reactivation (NEOWISE-R) 2021 data release.
We have generated light curves using the WISE data at W1 and W2 bands and computed the Lomb-Scargle periodograms for all of the sample stars.
From the WISE light curves, we have found useful variation parameters for 3710 objects in the catalog, for which the periods were either known or unknown in previous works. (see Tables 13-16)

an excel file (AGB2021_excel_v1.xlsx) for all IR data (a full version of Tables 9-12 in the paper)

Notes for Version 2021
(April 24, 2022) For AGB-WISE objects, two OAGB-WISE objects (OW-N 1655 and 3239) and two CAGB-WISE object (CW-N 3439 and 3545) should be excluded because they do not have proper WISE counterparts. From those four, two objects are duplicate objects. OW-N 1655 is the same object as an OAGB-IRAS object (OI-N 1820; IRAS 17464-2952; its AAVSO counterpart is a Mira variable OGLE-BLG-LPV-054881). CW-N 3545 is the same object as a CAGB-IRAS object (CI-N 859; IRAS 18008-2840; its AAVSO counterpart should be a Mira variable OGLE-BLG-LPV-196657; should have used the MSX position). All of these errors are corrected in Vesion 2022.
- Suh & Kwon (2009) presented a catalog of AGB stars (2193 O-rich, 1167 C-rich, 287 S-type, and 36 silicate carbon stars) in our Galaxy from the sources in the IRAS PSC compiling the lists of previous works with verifying processes.
- Suh & Kwon (2011) presented a revised catalog of AGB stars for 3003 O-rich, 1168 C-rich, 362 S-type and 35 silicate carbon stars in our Galaxy.
- Kwon & Suh (2012) presented a revised sample of 3373 O-rich AGB stars.
- Kwon & Suh (2014) presented a revised catalog of 29 silicate carbon stars, from which two of them are post-AGB stars.
- Suh & Hong (2017) presented a revised catalog of 3828 O-rich AGB stars and 1168 C-rich AGB stars excluding misclassified objects (O-rich: 15, C-rich: 9) and adding newly identified objects (O-rich: 470, C-rich: 9).
- Suh (2021) presented a revised catalog of 11209 O-rich AGB stars and 7172 C-rich AGB stars in our Galaxy.
