About 1 or 1.5 hours drive from Tsukuba. KOGA means Old(KO, ͯ) River(GA, ùÁ) and the influential people in the town Rotary Club financially support my friend, Mr. Choi, for his study.  Every second Wednesday of the month, Mr. Choi (Dr. Choi now) goes there to receive his scholarship.  I went along with him this time and enjoyed the city park, Navel Park.  Many housewives and pre-schoolers were out there and it was really peaceful.  I even dozed off on the bench. Enjoy the pictures.

The entrance.  Heisei-kan is a sort of community center of the park. A good restaurant is inside.

Lodges are available for you to stay but you have to reserve them months before in peak seasons.

A grill and a table. Looks cozy on the sunshine.

An artificial brook but it sounds very nice.

The Dune.  Perfect for sand sliding.

Slides and play grounds

Me sliding.  Real fun.  I did it twice.

A small cascade and a lawn yard.  Looks really peaceful. It gets really crowdy in summer, I was told.

A small Eco-learning theme park. You are supposed to stay on the wooden path.

An open concert hall

Inside of the 'Old House.' Legacy of the agrarian Japan.

A weekend family farms. I wish to pretend to farm as well here.
