Every mid October, there is a national fireworks competition in Tsuchiura, a city next to Tsukuba. This year it has been delayed for a week because there was a typoon and it was too windy.

If this photo was a 3 dimentional, it will look much better.  Japanese call "Fireworks," Hana-bi(literally, Flower Fire. Koreans call it Bul-Kot, Fire Flower).

The show starts at a sunset around 6:00 pm and continues to 8:00 pm or later.

Very romantic.

And it can be really noisy.

Sometime I felt like the fires falling right on me, because some of them were really big.

Yes, I got them all on a video.  Also, wear a thick jacket and bring a blanket because it can be really chilly.

Eating delicious food is another pleasure.
